Where to find them

01:00 AM EDT on Thursday, September 25, 2003

Here's a list of some of the area's weekly farmer's markets and large farmstands. A complete list of markets is available on the Web site of the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, www.state.ri.us/dem/topics/agricult.htm, or by phone at 222-2781.

Most markets will continue to operate weekly until the end of October. The season for farmstands varies: Some are open all year; others close after the growing season ends next month. Call ahead to find out hours, which change with the season.
