| Gerald M. Carbone has been a staff writer at The Providence Journal since 1988. He was a John S. Knight Fellow at Stanford University in 1998-99; is a two-time winner of AP's award for best New England feature story; and in 1995 won the American Society of Newspaper Editors Distinguished Writing Award for non-deadline writing. |
