| Brian C. Jones has covered a wide range of subjects since he joined the Providence Journal in 1966, including business and general assignment reporting. He has also written daily and Sunday columns and television criticism. He twice was manager of the paper's Newport news bureau. For several years, he wrote a feature column called ``Side Streets'', and he wrote major series about housing, the American family and the status of men. Jones previously worked briefly for United Press International in the Hartford, Conn. bureau, and then two years for the Springfield Union in Massachusetts. A former vice president of the Providence Newspaper Guild, Jones is a graduate of Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa., and is married to Judy K. Jones, a staff member with Rhode Island Housing and Mortgage Finance Corp. They have three children and a granddaughter. |
