Announcements
Engagements moving to Lifestyles

05/11/2003

Effective Sunday, June 1, engagement announcements will move from the Travel & Weddings section to Lifestyles where they will be published, for a fee, in a more personalized style.

Engagement announcements will be part of a new classified ad section in Lifestyles called Celebrations, which will also include paid advertising announcements for other life celebrations.

Engagement announcements will no longer have to follow a proscribed, one-size-fits-all format. Engaged couples can write their own announcement and also include a photograph, if they wish.

Wedding and commitment announcements will continue to be published in Travel & Weddings as news items, following a standard form.

The last standard-form engagement announcements will be published in Travel & Weddings on May 25. Announcements for that issue must be received by Janina Fera in the Features Department no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 14.

Celebration ad placement forms are now available at the Classified Counter in the main lobby of the Journal at 75 Fountain St. and will be avilable on projo.com beginning May 15. Call 277-7730 for information about rates and deadlines. May 22 is the deadline for the first Celebrations listings on June 1.
