Looks good, tastes better

Celebrities like a delicious confection when they tie the knot but, for many, it’s all about the look.

These eye-catching desserts were found at stars’ weddings, according to www.weddingsutra.com, India’s online wedding information Web site.

•TV’s Mariska Hargitay (Law and Order) and her husband Peter Hermann wowed guests with a 7-foot-tall, six-tiered chocolate and vanilla creation topped with a Swarovski crystal featuring their initials.

•Actress Melissa Joan Hart and rocker husband Mark Wilkerson served up a three-tier pistachio concoction at their Florence, Italy, wedding. She cut the cake to the tune “Truly Scrumptious,” from the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

•Billionaire Donald Trump and Melania Knauss had an orange Grand Marnier chiffon confection with a Grand Marnier buttercream filling. It towered 5 feet high, weighed 50 pounds, and featured 3,000 white-icing roses.

•Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan and Keely Shaye Smith offered guests a six-tier carrot cake fashioned after the one Jacqueline Kennedy served at her wedding to JFK. It was displayed on a topiary tablecloth embroidered with roses and gardenias. Orange blossoms, white roses and stephanotis cascaded over it. It had a dew-like look from the crystallized edible flowers.

•Singer Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey munched on a red velvet cake with hexagonal tiers, Victorian scroll work, drapes and sugar-paste flowers.

•Carmen Electra and musician Dave Navarro sunk their teeth into four tiers of Oreo cheesecake, chocolate cake and strawberry shortcake. Each tier was adorned with the same Swarovski crystals as on her gown.

•Norway’s Crown Prince Haakon and Mette-Marit featured raisins and rum in theirs.

•Blair Underwood and Desiree recreated the Eiffel Tower. It had lights going up the structure. In the center section was a replica of the couple dressed in their wedding attire.
