Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Barton Buffington IV

Patricia Mary Shawcross of Warwick and Alvin Barton Buffington IV of Cranston were married April 25 in St. Matthew Church in Cranston. The Rev. James Collins and the Rev. Leon Schultz officiated. The bride is the daughter of Judge Raymond and Noreen Shawcross of Narragansett. The groom is the son of A. Barton Buffington III of South Kingstown and Marilyn O’Hara of Warwick.

Lisa Moura and Karen Sierpina, sisters of the bride, were the matrons of honor. Jaimee Diggins was bridesmaid. The flower girls were Meredith Sierpina and Olivia Battles. Allen Place and Andrew Buffington, brother of the groom, were the best men. Kevin Sprague and Brendan Flaherty were ushers.

The bride is a graduate of Providence College and the University of South Carolina. She is employed by the Warwick Public School System. The groom is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and is employed by American Power Conversion in Kingston.

The couple visited Austria and Switzerland on their honeymoon. They make their home in Cranston.
