The Gardens at Blithewold Mansion in Bristol was the setting June 8, 2008, for the wedding of Kathryn Ann McLaughlin of Richmond and Michael Anthon van Hamel of South Attleboro. The Rev. Mary E. Powers officiated. The bride is the daughter of Gerald J. McLaughlin of Kissimmee, Fla., and Eleanor Lombardi of Richmond. The groom is the son of Atty and Sandra van Hamel of Pennsylvania.

Colleen Adamo, sister of the bride, James Adamo, Scott Winkler and Barbara Slover Winkler were attendants. Christina Adamo was junior bridesmaid and Thomas Adamo was usher. The flower girls were Grace McLaughlin, daughter of the bride, and Gabrielle Adamo. The ring bearer was Robert Winkler.

The bride is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design. The groom is a graduate of Princeton University. Both are architects and make their home in South Attleboro.
