THE SCOUTING REPORT

URI (5-2): Rams begin a big week that also includes the annual game against Providence College on Saturday. . . The Rams have had great success against the Huskies, winning 11 in a row over the last 17 years. . . Seawright will be starting his 73rd straight contest, the most of any player in the Atlantic 10. Baron will be making his 65th straight start. . . Baron is fourth in the country with 28 3-pointers (in 50 tries). . . Jones has 27 assists, with only 12 turnovers. . . Cothran is shooting 56 percent (49-for-87) from the field. . . Overall field-goal percentage is at 48.9, with 3-point shooting at 43.6. . . Martell has earned himself more playing time as the season has progressed. He has made 9 of 11 field-goal attempts, 8 of 9 free throws.

NORTHEASTERN (3-3): Huskies have had a wild start to the season. They had back-to-back victories over PC and Holy Cross, but have lost to BU and South Florida in their last two starts. . .Janning had 34 points in the game against URI at the Ryan Center last season. He and Baron make for a great match-up at the two guard. Janning also had 24 points in the PC victory this season, 27 in the win over Holy Cross. . . Janning and Allen, the starting backcourt, are averaging 37 and 33 minutes, respectively. . . The team is shooting only 39.7 percent from the field. . . Huskies are 2-8 in their last 10 games against Atlantic 10 opponents. . . The team is 26-7 at Matthews since returning to playing their games in the hockey arena three years ago. . . Spates has range beyond the 3-point line. He had 17 points in the victory over PC.
