THE SCOUTING REPORT

URI (8-4): Rams return to action after 10-day holiday break. The game is the second in 17 days. The other start was an 86-82 loss to Oklahoma State in Oklahoma City on Dec. 20. . . Seawright, who was named to the all-tournament team in Oklahoma City, needs 39 points to reach 1,000. He is shooting 56 percent from the field. . . Ulmer, at 53.7, and James, at 53.4, also are more than 50 percent from the field. The team is at 49.6 percent overall. . . Jones had a career-high 15 points, including three 3-pointers, in loss to Oklahoma State. . . Baron had 22 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead five players in double figures in last year’s victory over FDU. . . Rams are averaging 80.4 points, allowing 72.9.

FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON (1-9): Knights were picked to finish fourth in the Northeast Conference’s preseason poll, but the team has had major problems. The only victory was a 71-67 squeaker over Monmouth. . . This will be only the third home game. . . The young squad is without a senior. Among the losses from last year is guard Manny Ubilla, who had 39 points, including eight 3-pointers, in a loss to the Rams at the Ryan Center last season. Coach Tom Green already has used five different starting lineups. . . The team is averaging 58.2 points and allowing 80. It has given up 83 or more six times. . . Grier played one year for URI before transferring to FDU. This is his first season playing for the Knights. He has been used as the sixth man.
