The University of Rhode Island (2-8, 0-6) will say goodbye to 16 seniors who will dress for their last home game against Maine (7-3, 4-2) on Saturday. The Black Bears are ranked No. 21/23 in the FCS polls this week, making them the sixth ranked opponent URI has faced this season. The Rams are 1-4 in those games, with the only victory coming against No. 25 Brown on Oct. 4.

Quarterback Derek Cassidy leads the list of departing seniors. After directing a run-oriented offense for two years, he has passed his way into the URI record book this season. With two games remaining he stands third in career passing yards (4,720), touchdown passes (26) and completions (378).

Offensive lineman Antal Keszthelyi of North Providence (La Salle) will play his last home game. He is a four-year letterman and as a sophomore and junior was a blocker for URI’s vaunted rushing attack. He will start at left guard Saturday.

And lineman and long snapper Tom Estrella of Warren (Mt. Hope) will make his final home appearance.

Maine has won five in a row but lost, 3-0, on its last visit to Meade Stadium two years ago.

URI will end its season next week at Northeastern.
