SOUTH KINGSTOWN — The University of Rhode Island men’s basketball team plays the first of its two exhibition games when it hosts Concordia University of Montreal Monday night at 7 o'clock at the Ryan Center.
Concordia lost to the University of Vermont, 77-69, on Saturday in the first game of its four-game trip to the United States. Joey Accaoui, who lives in Lincoln, R.I., and graduated from St. Andrew’s, had 10 points for Vermont.
The Stingers already had played five games last month against Canadian opposition and were 5-0. After playing URI, Concordia heads to Utah, where it will play BYU and Utah State later this week.
URI comes off a 21-12 season, but must replace Will Daniels, Parfait Bitee and Joe Mbang. The Rams have four new players -- transfer Ben Eaves and freshmen Jamal Wilson, Orion Outerbridge and Stevie Mejia -- all of whom are expected to see action Monday night.
