SOUTH KINGSTOWN –– The Holy Cross basketball team knew what was coming Sunday when it visited the Ryan Center to play URI, but still could not stop it.

URI trying to shake 25 years of football futility
The Rams concluded their eighth consecutive losing season Saturday with a 33-27 loss to Northeastern at Meade Stadium. They finished with a 1-10 record, their worst since the 1999 team went 1-10. And they finished with a 10-game losing streak, their longest since the 1992 team dropped 10 straight. Their record in the last 24 years is 81-185.
