SWANSEA — Residents will decide the fate of hundreds of thousands of dollars of proposals at a special Town Meeting on Monday, including replenishing a maintenance account for repair of Case Junior High School’s chimney and buying a sport utility vehicle for the Police Department.

Swansea teen killed in crash on Route 6
SEEKONK — A 17-year-old Swansea resident and student at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, in Fall River, was killed yesterday morning on Route 6 after her car swerved across the highway and struck a utility pole.

Music, ads, to be played on school buses
SWANSEA — Needham-based Bus Radio will offer music programming with some advertising and public-service messages on Swansea school buses next fall, and the company plans to approach Rhode Island school districts in 2007 to gauge interest.

D’Amico tops Howitt in 4th Bristol District
In the battle of two Steves from Seekonk, Democrat Steve D’Amico won election to become the first new state representative for the 4th Bristol District in 24 years. He will succeed longtime Rep. Philip Travis to represent Seekonk, Rehoboth and parts of Swansea and Norton on Beacon Hill.
