Fatigue caught up with Celtics in Game Three
07:57 AM EDT on Thursday, June 12, 2008
LOS ANGELES -- The Lakers' Phil Jackson said he thought Kevin Garnett looked a bit gassed late in Game Three, and Paul Pierce was so winded at one point that he used a timeout for his own recovery.
The Celtics traveled Monday morning to L.A. and this time have several family members along for the ride.
While Ray Allen said treating family members to the excitement of The Finals was important, the players know they can't divide too much of their time between business and pleasure.
"This is the first game that I had four or five different players during the game signal to pull them out," said Celtics coach Doc Rivers. "I had to blow a timeout, one that I dearly didn't want to use late, if you remember when Paul got fouled. He signaled for a timeout. I thought he was injured because he just said, 'I need a timeout.' He just wanted a blow."
