| THE SCOUTING REPORT |
BRYANT (0-0): The Bulldogs play their first-ever game as a Division One school tonight at home. Bryant will be a full-time member of the Northeast Conference in the fall of 2012…First-year coach Tim O’Shea inherits a team with some decent scoring but a lack of size inside and quickness at the guard position. O’Shea comes to Bryant from Ohio University where he went 120-95 in seven seasons. The Bobcats won 20-19-19-21 games the last four seasons…Gresham and Birrell both averaged double figures last season when Bryant finished 17-11 in the Northeast-10. Gresham, a junior from Bloomfield, Conn., has potential to be big scorer … Birrell (Scituate), Lambert (Cumberland) and Andrew Lyell (Portsmouth) are Rhode Islanders on the roster.
ALBANY (0-2): The Great Danes play third straight road game to open the season. Play first home game Saturday against Central Connecticut. Lost at Villanova (78-60) and DePaul (75-64)…Trailed by 15 at half vs. DePaul but scratched back to within 65-59 late in the game…Harris, a transfer from Virginia, is off to a strong start. Point guard Raffa is a freshman…Albany expected to contend in the America East Conference.
