Quirk, Murphy officially win House seats
The winners in the House races for District 94 (Little Compton, Portsmouth and Tiverton) and District 98 (Jamestown and Newport) have finally been determined, after counting the absentee ballots.

Yesterday the state Board of Election announced that District 94 incumbent Republican Joan B. Quick will retain her House seat, having defeated challenger Democrat Michael B. Forte Jr. by 435 votes.

Meanwhile in District 98, challenger Republican William H. Murphy unseated incumbent Democrat George R. Levesque, winning by 103 votes.

In both races, the leaders retained their victories after the count of the mail ballots.
