A Time to Die

Reid can't make it. . . .' By January, these logistics are weighing on Steven Ames (right), and Earley's other friends and relatives, who have become his 24-hour caretakers. Earley will not go into a nursing home; the grandmother who raised him was put in one, a fact that never stops giving him pain.
