HAZARDOUS WORK: Dr. Selim Suner, left, team commander of the Rhode Island Disaster Medical Assistance Team and an emergency-room physician at Rhode Island Hospital, and Dr. John Sullivan assist an ironworker who was impaled by a piece of steel reinforcement beam. After his wound was cleaned and bandaged, the man was sent by ambulance to Bellevue Hospital to be sure his abdominal cavity wasn't punctured.
