OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – When Oklahoma State lost 74-70 to Texas Tech on Feb. 21, the Cowgirls went 0-for-18 from 3-point range. On Thursday, Oklahoma State shook its long-range blues, getting four 3-pointers from Taylor Hardeman in a second-half run that rallied the Cowgirls to a 63-57 victory over Texas Tech and advanced them to Friday's quarterfinals game against second-seeded Baylor. The Cowgirls (16-14) missed their first 13 shots and trailed 15-0 before Kelsey Hatcher hit a 3-pointer at the 12:16 mark. Texas Tech (16-15) led 28-17 at halftime. "There were lots of things said at halftime, but the main thing I told the team was that considering how poorly we shot the basketball we were only down by 11," said OSU coach Kurt Budke. "I figured we couldn't shoot 23-percent in the second half." Hardeman, who finished with 12 points, hit four consecutive shots from 3-point range early in the second half that helped the 10th seed take a 33-32 lead with 15:00 remaining. Maria Moore, who led Tech with 19 points, hit a trey 21/2 minutes later that gave the Lady Raiders a 39-37 advantage, but back-to-back baskets by Shaunte Smith gave OSU the lead for good. "I have to give credit to my teammates," said Hardeman, who hadn't hit a shot from 3-point range since Jan. 19. "They are the ones doing the screening, creating the shots for me. That's the only way for shooters to get shots. "There was a point there in the second half when I looked at Shaunte and we said we weren't going to lose this game." "Shaunte is going to give a lot of credit to her teammates, but it was her tonight," Budke said. Smith said it was a team effort. "We all did a good job of playing hard against her." Seals, who scored 22 points in the 74-70 win over the Cowgirls in Stillwater, said it was frustrating that she didn't do enough to help her team win. "It's my last game. I don't feel like I played hard enough." Tech coach Kristy Curry was equally disappointed and has said her squad would not participate in the WNIT if invited. "Inconsistency has hurt us all year. Moore has a big night, but Seals and (Jordan) Murphree don't. We are not at a point were we can do that as a team, we all have to play hard." Oklahoma State built a 52-43 advantage with 4:50 to play before Moore rallied Tech with three baskets including a 3-point field goal that cut the lead to four with 2:57 remaining. Shyvon Spears then made perhaps the play of the game, grabbing an offensive rebound and scoring, plus drawing a foul and hitting the free throw for a 57-50 lead with 2:05 to play. Andrea Riley added 16 points and eight assists for Oklahoma State, who lost a 67-65 overtime contest to Baylor on Feb. 11 in Stillwater. Women's basketball: Oklahoma State 63, Texas Tech 57
