The Night Before Christmas at the Samuel Whitehorne House, 416 Thames St., Newport. 849-7300. See Christmas as it was celebrated in the early 1800s, witnessing all of the preparations for the merriment and feasting of the next day. Take home period recipes and sample historic flavors.
