Aquanaut Scuba Camp, a five-day camp introducing ages 10 and up to scuba diving and creatures of the Bay and beyond, run by Ocean State Scuba in Jamestown. With kid-sized equipment, campers begin diving in an indoor heated pool and end up doing ocean dives. Jason Project Argonaut John Langella will lecture. Battleship Cove Community Boating Youth Sailing Program, Heritage State Park, Fall River; call (508) 678-1100. Four-day introductory course to sailing, 2 1/2 hours, Mon.-Thurs., June-August. Upon completion of the introductory course, students may continue onto Intermediate and Advanced two-week sessions with sailing instruction on land and in the surrounding waters of Battleship Massachusetts. $75 introductory course. $200 intermediate and advanced two-week sessions. Families can now participate in the oldest youth overnight camping program in the nation for Scouts and other organized youth groups. Ages 6-plus. Year-round. Stay on board the battleship USS Massachusetts or the destroyer the USS Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Sleep in authentic crew bunks, enjoy dinner, breakfast and box lunch, and eat chowline-style in the Officers' Wardroom. Activities may include knot-tying, professional storytelling, Morse Code and movie. Free admission to neighboring Marine Museum. Trident Camp, a three-day ocean experience in July and August for ages tentatively set at 6-11. Kids will peer into the sea with hands-on encounters at the private aquarium Biomes in North Kingstown, learn the ropes aboard the Dutch yacht Brandaris sailing out of Wickford Harbor, and dive into indoor pool with Ocean State Scuba for scuba, snorkeling and kayaking. $125 for 3-day camp. Beginners, Intermediates and Racing classes meet three times a week in a combination of 9 a.m.-noon and/or 1-4 p.m. Advanced racers are part of the Race Team and meet all day Tuesday, Wednesday afternoon and all day Friday, with occasional changes for interclub racing. Classes are taught by nationally certified instructors. Qualified racers may borrow boats for NBYA weekend regattas and Junior Race Week Aug. 15-18. $485 for the summer for Beginners, Intermediates and Racers, slightly more for the Race Team.
