Camp Marist, on the shores of Lake Ossipee, N.H. (603) 539-4552. Ages 6-16. Two-week sessions (longer also available) begin June 27. Offers a blend of friendship, activity, education, warmth and an appreciation of the environment in a nurturing family environment. Campers build their own schedule, choosing from over 35 activities, field trips and evening programs. Horseback riding, water-skiing, arts, sports, go-carts, rock-climbing and more. Camp Nawaka is a small, traditional camp for ages 8-15 in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts on a 130-acre facility, including a 20-acre private pond. Set on the Emma Willard campus, this residential summer academic enrichment program for 7th- to 12th-grade girls offers a choice of 10 courses of study including fine arts, performing arts, advanced-placement US History and more. Two-week sessions give campers a great chance to live, learn and have fun "on campus." Camp has academic field trips during the week for each course of study and Super Saturday excursions. July 4-16, July 18-30 and Aug. 1-13. $2,295.
