Halloween hits Smithfield and Pawtucket
01:00 AM EDT on Thursday, October 25, 2007
You can run, but you can’t hide; certainly not in Smithfield or Pawtucket. Between the two are three Halloween happenings.
All Hallows Eve is Saturday, 6 to 9 p.m., at the Smith-Appleby House, 220 Stillwater Rd., Smithfield. The event, presented by the Smithfield Historical Society, will involve a little Halloween history, silliness and family-friendly frights. Refreshments will be served. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children. For more information, visit www.smithapplebyhouse.org or call (401) 231-7363.
Also on Saturday, 6 to 9 p.m., you can take the Mysterious Mill Walk inside the Old Slater Mill, 67 Roosevelt Ave., Pawtucket. The historic site will offer scary themes on the first floor and children’s activities on the second floor. There will be games, a costume parade and storytelling. Admission is $5.
Also at the Slater Mill is the All Sunday Creepy Carnival, which is Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with Halloween activities and mill tours. Admission is free. For more information, visit www.slatermill.org, or call (401) 725-8638.
