A nursing assistant accused of attacking an Alzheimer’s patient in his care at St. Elizabeth Home, in East Greenwich, was indicted by a statewide grand jury yesterday on two counts of first-degree sexual assault.
Matthew F. Doyle, 24, of Wampanaug Trail in East Greenwich, was arrested July 31, three days after he allegedly assaulted the 69-year-old woman, described by the police as being in an advanced stage of Alzheimer’s disease.
Doyle, who was fired by the nursing home, is being held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions. He is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 19 in Kent County Superior Court.
