Music, art grants for teachers
01:00 AM EDT on Thursday, September 6, 2007
Art and music teachers in the Narragansett, South Kingstown, Westerly and Chariho school districts may apply for grants of $200 to $10,000 to assist their programs, provided through the herbal supplement company Airborne.
The Airborne Teacher Trust Fund was established two years ago by the company’s creator, Victoria Knight-McDowell, herself a former second-grade teacher. Funding is intended to help where budgets for art and music education have been cut, as they have in many of the country’s 15,000 school districts.
Information and applications are available at www.airbornetrust.com.
