Hit-and-run driver is sought

WESTERLY — The Westerly police are looking for the driver of a gray four-door sedan that hit a 78-year-old man as he walked along Benson Avenue in Misquamicut around 9:20 Sunday night.
The police say witnesses described the driver, who fled the scene, as a blond female who appeared to be alone in the car and aware that she struck a person.
The victim, whom police did not identify, was taken to Westerly Hospital, where he was treated and released.
The police ask anyone with information to call their tip line at 348-6131.
