WARWICK — A local man suffered serious head injuries when his bicycle crashed into a car at Church and Warwick avenues Wednesday afternoon, the police said.
Georgette Sweet, 58, of Smithfield, was making a right turn onto Warwick Avenue from the westbound lane of Church Avenue shortly before 3 p.m when the bicyclist, northbound on Warwick Avenue, rode into her car, the police said.
The bicyclist, whose name was being withheld yesterday, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, in Providence, according to the police, who said he was listed in critical condition.
The police were still investigating the crash and asked that anyone who saw it come forward.
