The Breakfast Club, a South County-based business networking group, has raised almost $700 for South Kingstown C.A.R.E.S. (Connecting All Resources for Educational Support), an organization which coordinates volunteer mentoring, tutoring, classroom aide and homework club programs in the local schools. The agency is looking for volunteers, and for someone to maintain its Web site. For information, call the volunteer clearinghouse SHO at 789-2362.
The Breakfast Club, which is open to local business professionals, meets the second Wednesday of the month at 7:30 a.m. at Bagelz, 90 Pershing Ave., Wakefield. For information, call Karen Hodges at 789-2140.
Welcome House, which provides emergency shelter and transitional housing to those in need, is soliciting donations for a project to redo its living area, in an effort to make it more comfortable and “homey” for residents.
Workers from Home Staging Professionals will be redecorating the shelter Sept. 12 through 17, as part of the fourth annual Worldwide Staging Service Week. Past recipients of World Staging Week services include Ronald McDonald House, nursing homes, schools, women’s shelters and people who need to sell their homes.

The Animal Rescue League of Southern Rhode Island needs volunteers to recruit donations and volunteers at special events, including fundraising golf tournaments, fashion shows and bazaars. Also sought are groundskeepers and people to answer phones, greet visitors and sign up volunteers at the shelter, on Curtis Corner Road in South Kingstown. For information, call SHO at 789-2362.
