SOUTH KINGSTOWN — A 47-year-old man who is alleged to have sold cocaine to a police informant was held without bail yesterday after an appearance in District Court.
Allister M. Sampson, of 1913 Kingstown Rd., was arrested shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday, after he sold $100 worth of cocaine in a parking lot on Columbia Street, according to police reports.
Sampson fled from his car when officers approached but was caught in a backyard as he tried to climb a fence.
He was charged with two counts of possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver and one count of resisting arrest, according to police reports. The no-bail order was automatic based on the possession with the intent to deliver charges, said Police Capt. Jeffrey Allen.
Sampson is expected to have a bail hearing within 10 days, Allen said.
