Board available to clear up any issues about where to vote
01:00 AM EDT on Friday, October 10, 2008
SOUTH KINGSTOWN — With record voter turnout expected on Nov. 4, the local Board of Canvassers is urging residents to contact it with any questions about where they should cast their ballot.
“It’s easier to take care of problems ahead of time,” said Town Clerk Dale Holberton. “We would encourage that if you’re not certain, call.”
The board is putting the word out because this year’s presidential race is expected to draw voters to the polls in high numbers.
All 12 polling stations will be open, the same as during the primary, Holberton said.
Those locations are:
• Voting District 1, American Legion Hall, 1958 Kingstown Rd.
• Voting District 2, Curtis Corner Middle School, 301 Curtis Corner Rd.
• Voting District 3, Forest Fire Station, 36 Holley St.
• Voting District 4, South Kingstown High School, 215 Columbia St.
• Voting District 5, Bradford R. Boss Arena, University of Rhode Island, 1 keaney Rd.
• Voting District 6, Wakefield Elementary School, 101 High St.
• Voting District 7, West Kingston Elementary School, 3119 Ministerial Rd.
• Voting District 8, West Kingston Fire Station, 390 Fairgrounds Rd.
• Voting District 9, Broad Rock Middle School, 351 Broad Rock Rd.
• Voting District 10, Matunuck Elementary School, cafeteria, 380 Matunuck Beach Rd.
• Voting District 11, Village at Worden’s Pond Club House, 14 Little Pond Rd.
• Voting District 12, Matunuck Elementary School, all-purpose room, 380 Matunuck Beach Rd.
Anyone unsure of their polling location should contact the Board of Canvassers at 789-9331; or visit www.state.ri.us, and select the voter information center.
