Flower show: The Village at Waterman Lake, 715 Putnam Pike, will host the Sundial Garden Club’s Flower Show May 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. The event, entitled “Tea for Two at the Chalet,” will feature an assortment of floral displays and exhibits throughout the village’s Chalet. Smithfield Advisory Group will meet May 15 at 8 a.m. at Fidelity Investments, 500 Salem St. The Smithfield delegation of the General Assembly has been invited. The lawmakers will update the attendees on the current session of the Assembly as it relates to business issues. To attend this meeting, call (401) 334-1000, ext. 117.
Plant and bake sale: Georgiaville Baptist Church, 100 Farnum Pike, will hold its annual plant and bake sale May 17 from 9 to 11 a.m. Geraniums and other annuals and perennials will be sold. If you would like to order specific plants, call (401) 568-4412 by Sunday. Money raised will be used to support programming for children and youth.
Health Fair: Smithfield Senior Center, One William J. Hawkins Jr. Trail, will host a health fair, May 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free health screenings and health information for senior citizens will be available. Services will include derma scan cancer screenings, blood pressure and blood glucose screenings, diabetic eye imaging, and hearing testing. There will be opportunities to consult with a pharmacist and orthopedic doctors. Information about local health and wellness services, health education, mental health and other resources will also be available. Pneumonia shots will be available, with an appointment. Hazardous waste day: Woonsocket has invited Smithfield residents to participate in a household hazardous waste collection May 31 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Woonsocket Highway Garage, 943 River St., by appointment only. If you have a propane tank, oil-based paint or stain, cleansers, fertilizers, weed killers, automotive lubricants, or anything toxic, corrosive, flammable, poisonous, or labeled “dangerous,” it is hazardous waste that cannot be thrown in weekly trash. Library Programs
East Smithfield Public Library, 50 Esmond St., will hold a plant swap Saturday at 9 a.m.
The Library Board of Trustees will meet May 14 at 7 p.m.
Books and bingo for ages 5 to 12 will be held May 17 from 11 a.m. to noon.
A card-making workshop is scheduled for May 19 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The library will host a Teen night Out May 20 at 6:30 p.m. The event will include a “No-Cook” cooking program.
The Lt. Governor’s Health Care program will be held May 22 at 6:30 p.m.
The library will join the American Library Association and the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in inviting people of all ages to “Step up to the Plate @ Your Library.” Library patrons are asked to answer a series of trivia questions inspired by the book Take Me Out to the Ball Game. Everyone who successfully completes the program will be eligible to win a trip for two to the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y.

Greenville Public Library, 573 Putnam Pike, will host a Teen Advisory Library Council meeting Saturday at 11 a.m. Teens age 11 to 18 are welcome to discuss what the library should buy and what activities should be offered.
Shooting Star Theatre, a children’s theater, will perform The Frog Princess, a 30-minute play, May 13 at 3:30 p.m.
Gross Grub, a tasting test opportunity to try foods that will make you feel squeamish, will be held at the library May 19 at 4 p.m.
The Yak and Snack teen book club will meet May 21 at 4 p.m. The group will discuss Cirque du Freak: The Saga of Darren Shan, by Darren Shan.
Mystery in the Library: “The Disappearance of King Henry VIII” will be held May 29 at 5 p.m. Join Sherlock Holmes as he solves the case. This three-hour program will include dinner.
Homework help is offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Students from Bryant University will be in the Baker After-School Center from 2 to 4:30 p.m. to help students with their homework. No registration is required.

High School Reunion
