Free leadership summer camp session offered

SMITHFIELD — Three organizations have joined hands to offer a free, four-day summer camp for Smithfield boys and girls ages 13 to 17.
The Smithfield Police Department, the Smithfield Substance Abuse Prevention Task Force and the Rhode Island National Guard will provide transportation to Camp Fogarty in East Greenwich July 21 to24.
The camp was described as an “intensive teambuilding/confidence development” program in which participants will learn leadership and teamwork through mental and physical training.
Membership is limited, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Those interested should contact the Smithfield’s community policing unit at (401) 231-2500, ext. 202.
The deadline for registration is July 14.
