Board of directors vacancy: The Town Council is seeking one member for the Western Rhode Island Home Repair Program, board of directors, who will be appointed until June. Applicants must be residents and registered voters in Scituate. Interested applicants should send a background letter or resumé to the town clerk’s office, 195 Danielson Pike, North Scituate, RI 02857 by Dec. 1.
Flu clinic: A flu-shot clinic will be held today from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at North Scituate Public Library, 606 West Greenville Rd. No appointment is necessary.
The shots will be given by staff from Hillside Avenue Family Medicine. The clinic is free for those with Medicare, but you must bring your card.

Gospel concert: Shepherd of the Valley Gospel Concert series will host CrossWay in concert, Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Shepherd of the Valley Church, Route 12 and Seven Mile Road.
Tickets are $10, and are available by calling (401) 647-7219 or (401) 828-4074.
Tickets are also available at Crystal Cleansers, 1 Coventry Shoppers Park, Coventry. Seating is limited, and advance tickets are recommended.
Craft show: Tabernacle Baptist Church, 182 Seven Mile Rd., will host a craft show, Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will include crafts, a white elephant table, Santa’s sweet shop, food, and more.
Scituate Greenspace Project: Residents are asked to help identify Scituate’s Important Recreational and Scenic Resources, Dec. 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hope Barn, Ryefield Road.
Paid for by the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, the Providence Water Supply Board and the National Park Service, this project serves to identify and map all of the natural, cultural and recreational resources that Scituate residents determine are important to the project.

Hope Library, 374 North Rd., holds free blood-pressure screenings on Wednesdays from 2 to 5 p.m.
The adult knitting group meets on the first and third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. New members and all skill levels are welcome. If you don’t know how to knit, the group will teach you.
The library has several children’s programs.
Time for Two’s, Friday at 11:15 a.m., with stories and activities for 2-year-olds and their parents or caregivers.
Kids Craft Time, Thanksgiving craft, Friday at 3:15 p.m. For children in kindergarten through grade five. Registration is required. Preschool story hour, Monday at 10:30 a.m. and at 2 p.m. The program is for children age 3 to 5, and family movie will be shown Nov. 25 at 1 p.m.
The Sewing Club will meet Nov. 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Learn to sew, or bring a project and work on it in a group setting. All skill levels are welcome.
A holiday program and bazaar will be held Dec. 2 from 1 to 4 p.m. The event will feature crafts, stories, refreshments and more. Santa Claus will stop by to chat with children. Gift items will be available to purchase at the bazaar table, with complimentary gift wrapping.
Decorate a gingerbread house at the library Dec. 9. Parents and children are invited to decorate their own house. The program begins at 11 a.m. All materials will be supplied. A fee of $10 per house is due at registration.

North Scituate Public Library, 606 West Greenville Rd., will host a children’s Thanksgiving craft program, Monday at 4 p.m. Children age 5 to 12 will learn to make a table decoration. Registration is being held at the library.
The Book Club meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The next meeting will be held Dec. 11. The group will discuss I Through My Father Was God and Other True Tales from NPR’s National Story Project by Paul Auster.
