Bike tour: Scituate Rotary Club’s annual Scenic Scituate Bike Tour will be held Sept. 6. The tour offers four routes of 13, 27, 51 or 71 miles. Check-in is from 7 to 9 a.m.; riders proceed along the route of their choosing at their own pace. The tour begins and ends in the parking lot opposite North Scituate Community House, 546 West Greenville Rd., Route 116. The first 100 riders will receive event T-shirts. The club will provide route maps, rest stops, refreshments and rider support along the routes by the CVS/Samaritan van.
Registration fee is $25 per rider, for teams or groups of ten or more riders the fee is $20 per rider. Proceeds will support Scituate Rotary Club charities and projects. Registration forms are available at Vangel Jewelers in North Scituate, call (401) 647-3532, or e-mail VANGELJR@aol.com.
At the Libraries
North Scituate Library will host an old fashion summer lawn party July 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the gazebo on the Village Green. Try your skill at miniature golf, and participate in a three-legged race, water balloon toss or relay race. There will be a pie-eating contest for adults and children. The event will also include a balloon man making creations, and face painting. Hot dogs, popcorn, lemon ice, soda and water will also be available. This fundraising event will benefit the Library’s Capital Campaign. For more information, call (401) 647-5133.
Hope Library, 374 North Rd., will host a drop-in craft program during “Make & Take Tuesdays” on Tuesday, and July 29 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Representatives of the Boudjouk Landi Wealth Management Group from UBS Financial will host a seminar on retirement income planning, Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the library. Refreshments will be served. Call (401) 455-6761 to register.
A family game night is scheduled for Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The program includes games, crafts, and snacks.
Children in grades kindergarten to 5 are invited to a craft program “Creepy Crawly Critters” July 25 at 11 a.m.
