RICHMOND — A local man faces a child pornography charge stemming from the discovery of video images in a computer seized from his home in an unrelated investigation, the state police said.

Daniel R. Davidson, 36, of 216 Carolina Nooseneck Rd. is expected to be arraigned in Washington Superior Court on the single felony charge on March 10. A criminal information was filed with the court on Tuesday.

Davidson, who videotapes town meetings for PA-TV 18, the public-access branch of the Rhode Island Public Broadcasting Foundation, also faces a misdemeanor charge for allegedly cyberstalking Marilyn Sheldon, who once hosted a public access television show, by posting offensive videos on YouTube.com, a Google-owned video-sharing service.

One video showed the image of the convicted killer of Sheldon’s son and the message, “Remember me, get ready to die, you did a bad thing.”

Davidson was arrested on that charge on Oct. 5.

At the time of the arrest, the state police seized a computer from Davidson’s home, said Lt. LeRoy Rose, assistant detective commander.

Forensic analysis of the computer revealed “video images that we believed to be child porn,” Rose said.

Davidson remains free on $5,000 bail on the cyberstalking charge. A trial on that case is scheduled to begin March 12 in District Court.
