PROVIDENCE — The police said yesterday they are continuing to pursue leads in the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man on Clym Street Saturday night.
Deputy Chief Paul J. Kennedy said the police believe Leonardo Manzano, of 204 Saratoga St., had gotten into a car that was leaving the street, between Douglas Avenue and Admiral Street, around 9:55 p.m. when he was shot in the back from outside the car.
“I don’t want to get into the specifics as to exactly how it happened,” Kennedy said. “The matter is still under investigation.”
Kennedy said Manzano was taken by the driver of the car to Rhode Island Hospital, where he died of a gunshot wound. His killing marked the city’s 10th homicide this year.
