Laid-off man threatened boss with gun, Providence police say
01:00 AM EDT on Wednesday, September 19, 2007
PROVIDENCE — A Warwick man who lost his job at a company in Washington Park has been charged with threatening his boss with a handgun.
Kwatchhatour Dolarin, 54, a supervisor at International Insignia at 1280 Eddy St., told the police that Levon Yagoubian, 61, of 66 North Palm Blvd., Warwick, threatened him with a handgun.
Yagoubian pointed a gun at him, Dolarin alleged, and said that if he was not rehired within 30 days, he would kill Dolarin and his family, according to the police.
The police arrested Yagoubian and charged him with assault with a device similar to a firearm, and he was arraigned in District Court.
The alleged incident was said to have occurred Monday morning, according to a police report. Dolarin said Yagoubian was laid off Friday and that the two encountered one another in the company parking lot three days later. Yagoubian waved him over to his car and then took a black-and-silver handgun from a shopping bag, pointed it at him and made his threat, according to Dolarin.
