PAWTUCKET — Mayor and Public Safety Director James E. Doyle promoted five current members of the Pawtucket Police Department and the swearing in of seven new officers. The officers that were promoted are:

Police Captain Bruce Moreau to the rank of Major

Police Lieutenant Kevin Whalen to the rank of Captain

Police Detective Sergeant Cory Jackson to the rank of Lieutenant

Police Sergeant Thomas Newman to the rank of Detective Sergeant

Police Detective Kevin Shea to the rank of Sergeant.

Graduates of the Police Academy sworn in were: John Donley, Rui J. Silva, Geoffrey D. Metfooney, Kraig A. Nelson, Alexander R. Smith, Christopher J. Polinick, and Paul M. Trout.
