Flu vaccinations: Town residents can receive a flu vaccination Nov. 28 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Scouter’s Hall in Slatersville. The vaccine is available for anyone over the age of 18. Bring your medical insurance cards. Nurses from Roger Williams Home Care will be administering the vaccine. For more information, call the town administrator’s office at (401) 767-2202, ext. 301.
North Smithfield Public Library, 20 Main St., will be closed today and tomorrow for Thanksgiving. The library will be open Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The romance novel discussion group will meet Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the library. The group will discuss the novel Match Me If You Can by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. New members are welcome.

St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and Slatersville Congregational Church will celebrate an Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service today at 7 p.m. The service will be held at Slatersville Congregational Church on the Common, corner of Green Street and School Street. Refreshments will follow in Globe Hall. Attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Because He Lives food kitchen at the First Baptist Church in Woonsocket.
