Meeting on adoption: Adoption Options will hold a free informational session for those considering adoption, tonight from 6 to 7 p.m. at 959 North Main St. Licensed adoption workers will be available to provide information and answer questions.
Adoption Options, a nonsectarian, nonprofit, comprehensive adoption program of Jewish Family Service, works with prospective adoptive parents, birth parents and people who have been adopted. The agency’s work with all members of the adoption triad is focused on helping individuals understand their options and make the most informed choices for their future.

Comedy: Tomorrow and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., the La Salle Academy Alumni Theatre Collaborative (ATC) will present Classroom Comedies — two one-acts by A.R. Gurney, The Love Course and The Old One-Two.
Six alumni of La Salle Academy will perform under the direction of two alumni. Organizers of the alumni show are Loretta M. Cimini and Christopher DeLuca, both 2004 graduates.
Performances will be in the Brother Michael Mc Kenery Performing Arts Center Theatre at La Salle Academy, 612 Academy Ave.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.

Vendors sought: Oasis International, 600 Broad St., is seeking food and crafts vendors for the 15th annual African Summer Bash on Saturday, July 26, from 1 to 7 p.m. at Richardson Park on Prairie Avenue.
Tables are available for $25 to $50 for the day.

Bike ride: Bicycling enthusiasts are invited to join the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council (WRWC) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. for a 5-mile after-work bike trip along the new paved off-road portion of the Fred Lippitt Woonasquatucket River Greenway.
The ride will begin at Hillside and Manton avenues and will go to Lyman Avenue in Johnston to Riverside Park in Providence and will end back at Hillside Avenue. This ride will take place only on the paved off-road section. The ride is safe for children; families are encouraged to attend. Lemonade will be provided.
Bike rides are planned for the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. On the second Wednesday, the ride will start at Riverside Park in Providence and on the fourth, it will start at Hillside Avenue in Johnston. Check the Web site for details on the ride or for a map of the greenway.
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation has completed Phase 1 and 2 of the Fred Lippitt Woonasquatucket River Greenway. Phase 1 begins near the Providence Place Mall on Promenade and Kinsley Avenue and consists of on-road bike lanes. There is a small section through Eagle Square Shopping Plaza that is an off-road paved section. It then continues on-road until you reach Riverside Mills Park. Phase 2 begins at Riverside Park and consists of 2.9 miles (including the “spurs”) of paved off-road path. This is just the beginning of an 18-mile bike path along the Woonasquatucket River.
The Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council’s mission is to restore the Woonasquatucket River as a recreational, environmental and cultural asset for the state.

On the terrace: RI2PN will present Frazier Festival, Re-imagining Frazier Terrace, on Saturday, July 26, at 6 p.m.
Local and regional artists will present a program of dance, theater and performance art at the Frazier Terrace, on the campus of the Rhode Island School of Design, directly across from the RISD Museum.
The event is free and open to the public.

Babysitting camp: Women & Infants Health Education Department, 100 Dudley St., is offering aspiring babysitters 11 years and older skill-building classes. The weeklong, half-day babysitting camps teach sitters about child development, effective discipline techniques, age-appropriate games, accident prevention and safety measures, first aid for scrapes and bruises and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation for infants, children and adults.
Camps are held Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon, July 28 to Aug. 1 or Aug. 4 to 8.
The class fee is $50. Space is limited.

Italian festival: Classic Artist Entertainment, in conjunction with the Federal Hill Gazette, will present a 5-day Italian Arts & Music Festival throughout the downtown Providence park system, running from Aug. 7 to 11. The festival has joined with the World War II Veterans Memorial Commission to raise money for the completion of the memorial.
Admission to festival events is free.
CAE will present live musical entertainment from opening until closing each day of the festival, using two stages: one at Gardner-Jackson Park (the Sergio Franchi Stage) and the other at the Bank of America Skating Center (the Mario Lanza Stage).
There will be an opera pavilion, featuring exhibits from the Enrico Caruso Museum of America and the Lanza Legend Archives.
On Aug. 7, there will be a pre-opening special for elderly patrons, people with handicaps and their caregivers. The festival will provide free food and beverages for those patrons and a show from 4 to 5:30 p.m., with the festival’s official opening ceremonies scheduled for 6 p.m.
Vendors of food, beverage and souvenirs will be set up along the river and in park spaces surrounding the stages.
Festival hours are 6 to 11:30 p.m., Aug. 7 and 8; noon to midnight, Aug. 9 and 10; and noon to 9 p.m., Aug. 11.
