David Carlin reelected to School Committee
01:00 AM EST on Thursday, November 9, 2006
An article in yesterday’s East Bay section incorrectly reported that David R. Carlin Jr. had lost his bid for reelection to the School Committee.
Carlin, a veteran on the committee, won another two-year term. He’s a professor at the Community College of Rhode Island and a former state Senate majority leader.
Seven of eight candidates were elected to the committee, including Carlin and five other incumbents. Carlin finished in second to last place with 4,059 votes, according to results from the state Board of Elections. He beat out Frank E. Coleman by 451 votes for the final seat on the committee. Coleman was the only candidate in the field who was not elected.
