Lighthouse group: The Friends of Plum Beach Lighthouse will meet Saturday morning at 10 at the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce, 8045 Post Rd., North Kingstown. New members are sought.

Chamber meeting: The North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce will host its annual meting and dinner at the Quonset O Club, 200 Lt. James Brown Rd., North Kingstown, tonight at 6:30. Reservations are $45.

The chamber’s business expo is scheduled for this afternoon from 3 to 6. Admission is free, but reservations should be made by calling 295-5582.

The chamber will honor its volunteers Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at HoofFinFeathers Carriage Inn, on Tower Hill Road in North Kingstown.

Bridge clubs: The South County Bridge Club organizes games of duplicate contract bridge each Thursday night at 6:30 at the Neighborhood Guild, 325 Columbia St., Peace Dale. For information, call Bill Niemi at 783-3118, Mildred Mahoney at 783-3560, or Bea Sparks at 783-1588. Bridge lessons are also offered each Tuesday, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the guild. Niemi leads supervised bridge sessions the second and fourth Saturday of the month, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the Cross’ Mills Public Library, 4417 Old Post Rd., Charlestown. Players of all levels are welcome. Bridge games are played each Monday at 1 p.m.

He will also be teaching a bridge class at the Courthouse Center for the Arts, on Route 138 in West Kingston, meeting Monday from 3 to 5 p.m., May 19 through June 23. Fees are $60 for members, $70 for others; to register, call 782-1018.

Duplicate bridge games are played at the Narragansett Community Center, 53 Mumford Rd., Narragansett, each Monday at 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. For information call Joan O’Connell at 369-4012.

Chess clubs: Clark Memorial Library, 7 Pinehurst Drive, Carolina, hosts a chess club for adults and children age 6 and up, meeting the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. To register, call 364-6100.

Newcomers group: The South Kingstown/Narragansett Friends, a group for anyone new to the area, meets the second Wednesday of the month at 9 a.m. at the Neighborhood Guild, 325 Columbia St., Peace Dale. For information, call 788-1022.

“Moms” clubs: Clark Memorial Library, 7 Pinehurst Drive, Carolina, is the site of a “Moms Club” meeting the first Friday of the month, at 10:30 a.m.

“Washington County Moms,”’ formerly “Moms Club of South Kingstown,” meets the first Monday of each month, at 10 a.m., at Christ United Methodist Church, 2291 Kingstown Rd., Kingston. Children are welcome and a continental breakfast is served. For information, call 782-2373.

Knitting clubs: A knitting group for all levels meets at Clark Memorial Library, 7 Pinehurst Drive, Carolina, the third Monday of the month at 7 p.m.

The Narragansett Senior/Community Center, 53 Mumford Rd., is the site of a knitting group each Thursday at 10 a.m. A knitting instructor is available with help the second Thursday of the month, for a $5 fee. A group meets at the Narragansett Public Library, 35 Kingstown Rd., Friday from 3 to 5 p.m.

A knitting and rug hooking group for all ages meets Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Jamestown Library, 26 North Rd., Jamestown. Participants should bring their own needles and yarn

Hospice support groups: Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island conducts a support group for caregivers of people with life-threatening illnesses, meeting the first and third Tuesday of the month, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., at Westerly Hospital, 25 Wells St., Westerly. A free bereavement group, open to anyone who has lost a spouse, significant other or life partner, but who has not yet begun to grieve acutely, meets the third Monday of the month, at 4:30 p.m., at Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island’s Wakefield office, 143 Main St. For information, call Morgan Ban-Draoi at 789-5200.

Diabetes support: South County Hospital conducts a support group for people with diabetes the third Tuesday of the month, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. To register, call 788-1135.

Pregnancy loss: South County Hospital hosts a support group for people who have experienced a miscarriage or stillbirth meeting the last Thursday of the month from 7 to 8:30 p.m. For information, call 788-8020, ext. 3255.

Mental health support: The South County affiliate of the National Alliance for Mental Illness sponsors a support group for friends and family members of people with mental illness the second Wednesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Beechwood House Senior Center, 10 Beach St., North Kingstown. MS patient support: A support group for people with multiple sclerosis meets the last Monday of each month, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, at the Hopkinton Police Station, 406 Woodville Rd., Hopkinton. For information, call Rhonda O’Donnell at 491-9270.

Cancer support: Westerly Hospital sponsors a free cancer support group meeting the fourth Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m., at the office of Drs. Robert Legare and Robert Knisley, 11 Wells St., Suite 5, Westerly. For information, call 348-3423.

South County Hospital host a support group offering support to cancer patients and their families meeting the first Wednesday of the month, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. For information, call 788-1294.

Fibromyalgia support group: The Arthritis Foundation sponsors a support group for people with fibromyalgia the first Friday of the month, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m., at All That Matters, 315 Main St., Wakefield. For information, call 739-3773.

Pet loss support: A group providing a forum for adults are dealing with the loss of a pet, caring for an aging pet and facing the possibility of euthanasia, and handling children’s reactions to the loss of a pet, meets the second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Meadows Professional Office Park, Suite E205, 1130 Ten Rod Rd., North Kingstown.
