Library programs: The North Kingstown Free Library, 100 Boone St., North Kingstown, will host local historian Tim Cranston tomorrow at 2 p.m. Cranston will speak on “Setting the Record Straight” on slavery and relations between settlers and Native Americans in Colonial Rhode Island.

‘Southwind’ tours to start

Knife attacks at party lead to arrest of 2 men
NARRAGANSETT — The police arrested two Coventry men Monday in connection with a scuffle in which two men at a party were allegedly attacked with a fold-open razor blade knife.

Police complete probe of April 6 fatal accident
NARRAGANSETT — The Police Department has wrapped up its investigation of the pedestrian accident last month that killed a 19-year-old University of Rhode Island student and has sent its findings to the state attorney general’s office, which will determine whether to pursue criminal charges, Police Chief Joseph T. Little Jr. said yesterday.

NARRAGANSETT — Dawn will break at 5:42 a.m. tomorrow to the sound of a dozen cracking rolling pins when the border Morris dance team, The Ladies of the Rolling Pin, welcome in spring with a seaside jig — and maybe a hunk of quiche.
