Photo contest: Lincoln Land Trust is holding an amateur photo contest open to residents of Lincoln age 12 and older. The theme is “Lincoln’s Open Space: Explore it.” The pictures must be of properties in town that are already preserved, or of ones that you would like to see preserved. A map of Lincoln’s open spaces can be viewed on the town website at www.lincolnri.org/directions/open_space_map.asp
Pictures submitted can be black and white, or color. The size of the picture must be no larger than 8-by-10 inches, and must be unmounted. Digital photographs are allowed. The photographers’ complete name, address, phone number, and location of photograph must be attached to the back of the picture. Pictures can be dropped off at Lincoln Town Hall, 100 Old River Rd., during regular business hours. The trustees of the Lincoln Land Trust will be the judges for this contest. The contest will run until Dec. 29. Winners will be notified, and will be announced on the town Web site. For more information, call (401) 724-5292
St. James Church, 33 Division St., is holding its 10th annual Christmas craft fair Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Fr. Brindamour Church Hall. The event will feature a penny social raffle, bake sale, flea market and more.
The Lonsdale Parent Teacher Organization will hold its eighth annual Holiday Craft Extravaganza Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lonsdale Elementary School, 270 River Rd. There is no charge for admission.
Wesley United Methodist Church, 55 Woodland St., will host Christmas on the Hill Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will include handmade wreaths, quilted items, books, a snack bar, and more.
