Italian Festival: An Italian Feast and Festival in honor of La Madonna Della Difesa will be held at Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Road. The festival is being held today through Sunday, and will include food, games, rides and entertainment all under the Big Top. Festival hours are: today, 5 to 10 p.m.; tomorrow, 5 to 11 p.m.; Sept. 6, 5 to 11 p.m.; and Sept. 7, 1 to 10 p.m. Admission is free, and all are welcome.

Veteran’s workshop: The Bridge at Cherry Hill Assisted Living, 1 Cherry Hill Rd., will host a free workshop for wartime veterans or their surviving spouse, Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. This informative session will explain benefits that you or a loved one may be eligible for to assist with paying for the cost of assisted living. Apple Festival: The 21st-annual Apple Festival will be held Sept. 20 and 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Johnston Memorial Park. The festival will feature arts and crafts, food vendors, attractions, live music, pony and train rides, free kids zone, amateur apple pie competition, and activities.

Vendors needed: St. Rocco Women’s Guild Christmas Bazaar will be held Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Rocco School, Atwood Avenue. Vendors and crafters are needed. Space rental with a table is $30. For more information, or to reserve your space, call (401) 467-2928.

Library Programs

Marian J. Mohr Memorial Library, 1 Memorial Ave., will host drop-in craft programs. Drop-in crafts are held from 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The schedule is: Sept. 6, Curious George crafts and activities; Sept. 13, Fancy Nancy crafts and activities.

The Reader’s Lair Book Club for children in grades kindergarten through 7 will host a kickoff pizza party Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m. The book club schedule is: grade 5 to 7, the first Wednesday of the month starting Oct. 1; grades 3 and 4, the first Monday of the month starting Oct. 6; and grades kindergarten to 2, the second Thursday of the month starting Oct. 9.

A Monologues and Improvisation Theater for teens and middle school students will be held Sept. 11 at 3 p.m. at the library.
