Apple Festival: The 21st annual Apple Festival will be held Sept. 20 and 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Johnston Memorial Park. The festival will feature arts and crafts, food vendors, attractions, live music, pony and train rides, free kids zone, an amateur apple pie competition, and activities.

Vendor space is available. The cost to enter the apple pie competition is $5. For more information, or to have an application mailed to you, call the North Central Chamber of Commerce (401) 349-4674.

Business after Hours: North Central Chamber of Commerce will host a “Business After Hours,” Aug. 28 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Ribs & Company, 1383 Atwood Ave. Chamber members are free, there is a $10 charge for others. Library Programs

Marian J. Mohr Memorial Library, One Memorial Ave., will host “Game On” Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Children are invited to check out the library’s board game collection or bring a game to share with other children.

A drop-in craft program is held on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. until Aug. 29. The program is for children ages 3 and up with a parent/caregiver.

Clubs/Organizations

The Bridge at Cherry Hill Assisted Living, One Cherry Hill Road, will host an event with Mayor Joseph M. Polisena, today at 3 p.m. The event will include entertainment and refreshments.

A Luau night dinner and entertainment with Vinnie Ames will be held Aug. 27 at 5 p.m. For reservations, call (401) 233-2880.

Nar-Anon meeting, a support group for families and friends of addicts, meets on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. at The Bridge at Cherry Hill, 1 Cherry Hill Rd. For more information, call (401) 353-6119.

Johnston Senior Center, 1291 Hartford Ave., has scheduled the following trips: Twin River, Sept. 8; Mohegan Sun Casino, Sept. 11; Foxwoods bingo bus, Sept. 17; a mystery lunch, Sept. 21; and Foxwoods Casino, Sept. 25.

Reservations are to be made on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Full payment is due at the time of reservation. Trips are on a first-come, first-serve basis. The price of the trip is non-refundable, except for unforeseen circumstances, due to weather or driver emergency. Boarding will take place 15 minutes before departure.
