Contest is on to determine fairest at the fair

Local girls who are residents of Washington County or members of a Rhode Island Grange, 4-H or Future Farmers of America may register to be the “princess” and “queen” of this year’s Washington County Fair. The “Princess” contest is for girls age 12 to 15, with the “Queen” competition open to ages 16 to 19.
Contestants will be judged on poise, personality, grooming, speaking ability and their contest applications, and must be available for a rehearsal Aug. 9 and judging Aug. 10, both at the Richmond Grange Hall at 3 p.m. The announcement of the winners will be made at the Washington County Fair Aug. 13.
