Outgoing council approves new entertainment license
01:00 AM EST on Tuesday, November 28, 2006
HOPKINTON — Businesses that hold a Class B, BV, or BVL alcoholic beverage license must now obtain an entertainment license to hold live entertainment under regulations approved by the outgoing Town Council at its final meeting.
The new requirement was approved 3 to 0 at a special meeting on Nov. 18. Councilmen John O. Matson and Brian Scott did not attend the meeting.
The one-year license would be renewed at the same time as the liquor license and would be subject to approval by the state Department of Business Regulations.
Currently, those businesses could hold indoor entertainment as long as the zoning and building official deemed it an incidental use to the type of business.
