Motorcyclist found dead on Putnam Pike

GLOCESTER — A male motorcyclist was found dead by the police at 7:20 last night on Putnam Pike.
According to the police, the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Putnam Pike. He was negotiating a curve just before Absalona Hill Road, when he left the right shoulder of the road and struck a stone wall.
He was riding alone and was not wearing a helmet, the police said.
The victim’s name was being withheld until his family was notified.
The state police and the Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office are assisting in the investigation.
