Vendors needed: Glocester Heritage Society will host a Heritage Day, Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Arts and craft artists and specialty dealers will display their wares on each side of Route 44 in the main section of Chepachet. Library Programs

Harmony Library, 195 Putnam Pike, will host a read-a-thon with individual groups for preschoolers, children entering kindergarten, elementary grades, and teens. The program will be held today at 10:30 a.m.

A family movie will be shown Aug. 27 at 10:30 a.m. and Sept. 2 at 2 p.m.

The library will host a babysitting training course sponsored by the American Red Cross Rhode Island Chapter, Sept. 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Designed for 11 to 15 year olds, the course will focus on the responsibilities of being a good babysitter. The fee is $50.
